In case you haven't heard, we are moving to North Carolina. We will be 3 hours from the beach, but more importantly 4.5 hours from my parents. It makes me so super excited! I can go home for Thanksgiving, Christmas, my sister's recitals... and just whenever really. My sister can come visit me too during school breaks. I wanted Virginia, but this was on our dream list as well because it was close to my parents!
I'm not looking forward to the humidity... or getting to know a new city... making new friends... etc. I have some amazing friends that I have met through work and since Steve has been gone, I've been hanging out with them a lot. And it makes me sad. Sad that we didn't start hanging out sooner, and sad because I'm leaving them. But I have a reason to come back now.
I think Utah will remain on our dream list, because I really do like it here and wouldn't mind coming back.
As far as work goes, my last official day is this coming Saturday. I was told to go to NC, look at the store there and decide if I want to continue with the company. If I do, my current boss will call them and give me a "glowing recommendation." His words, not mine haha. Although, if they don't have any positions then I'm out of luck. If they don't, maybe they'll rehire me when they start hiring seasonally. Until we leave though, I'll sort of be on call. If someone calls out, I told them they could call me.
So when do we leave? I'm not sure. If he gets to stay and help his recruiter... we'll leave around the 26th of July. If he doesn't, then the latest we can leave is the 18th.
He still does not have his orders. This means we can't schedule the movers. Steve will be home in less than 3 weeks, and we'll be out of here in 4 or 5. I hate doing things last minute.
It sucks. I'm frustrated. I just want it to be over with, have a nice apartment and be settled in. And then go visit my parents for my birthday. :)

2011 in review
January - I discovered the amazingness of the Hunger Games after a couple years of my friend Tamar pushing me to read it. I devoured the trilogy in less than a week.
February - I declared my hate for Valentine's Day. It's too commercialized and we don't need a day forcing us to be sweet and lovey. We stay away from restaurants and movies because of overcrowding. I'd rather eat at home and watch something on TV with my husband. It's quiet, healthier, and much more intimate.
March - Nothing too exciting.
April - Steve took the ASVAB. My parents and sister came to visit, and it snowed while they were here. Even though it was beautiful before and after they left. Go figure. We all went to Idaho to see old friends. I interviewed for a lead position at work.
May - I started my new position as a lead and had to call out twice during my first week from a nasty cold. Steve got down to the proper weight, and his recruiter started the paperwork to join the Air Force. Steve's parents came to visit over the Memorial Day weekend.
June - Kind of a slow month. I was getting the hang of being a lead. And we were both enjoying the warm weather
July - We got health insurance back! I went to a dermatologist straight away and got back on my medicine! Woo hoo! My knowledge of my car surpassed those of the "experts" when my car started acting up. I was impressed with myself haha.
August - My department at work went through major changes. It was also a major pain in the butt because of our equipment not working properly. My little sister came to visit! We had a blast! We went to Lagoon (an amusement park nearby). We both played laser tag for the first time.
September - I turned 24. We celebrated 3 years of marriage. Steve finally went to MEPs (Military Entrance Program) which is just a big physical. Stephanie came to visit for the night on her way to California.
October - Steve's mom came to visit for a weekend. I almost got a dog, but he was too high strung so after a lot of debating, A LOT of debating, I turned him down. Steve got my car towed after leaving it in the red zone over night. $210 down the drain. Steve turned 24.
November - We made our first turkey for Thanksgiving! I got my last depo shot. Nothing too exciting really.
December - Steve got a job in the Air Force and he leaves March 22nd. We got a list of possible bases, and Virginia is on it! I want to move to Virginia so very badly! My daddy bought me a Nook Tablet in the process of buying my step mom one. I found out a week later that he bought my sister a freaking car. I'm not even trying to hide my jealousy.
2012 is going to bring me a lot of change, and lots of stress to go with that change. Steve will be done with both basic and tech school, and unless he fails one of those, we'll be moving in July. I highly doubt that he'll get stationed here. It'd be nice if he did, but I seriously am begging for Langley, VA in my head.
I will be living alone for the first time in my life when Steve leaves. 3.5 months. It's pretty scary and looking extremely lonely... During that time though, my sister (possibly my dad too) will be coming to visit me. I'm trying to get my grandparents to come visit during the spring LDS conference since they are LDS and want to attend at least one. I figure this is the year to do it, since there will be no family here once we leave.
At the end of May, I have a wedding to attend in Montana, as well as Steve's basic training graduation in Texas. I think they will be consecutive weekends, but at this point I'm not sure if they'll actually be the same weekend. I'll be using all of my vacation time this spring/early summer.
As far as my job... I'll be working up until we move. I'm hoping I'll be able to transfer wherever we go. If not, I might look at school again. But I'll figure that out when the time comes.
It looks scary, but I can handle it. I'm a strong, young lady. Bring it, 2012!

Lots to do
I'm sitting here with Jasmine at my side trying to think of something to post when I look at the calendar.
19 days until we are on our way to Utah! That's less than three weeks, and I start to think of all the things we need to do!
Tomorrow, I need to pay our last month's storage rent, and since I'll be there anyway, I should probably dig out our luggage for the trips.
I should probably stop by Borders on Thursday and pick up a few more boxes for all the little stuff around our room. Also, I need a place to put the stuff that is currently in the luggage. By the way, if you ever move, Borders has the best boxes for moving. They are big enough to pack just about anything, but small enough that it's kind of impossible to make them too heavy. Plus, they are all the same size and stack nicely. Steve also has an eye appointment on Thursday, and is getting new glasses since we are going to lose our insurance.
Friday is my birthday! Another post after the party with pics to come later! I also meet with my dermatologist that day, where I can hopefully convince her to give me three more weeks worth of medicine because my psoriasis is still there. It is going away with the meds, but it's still there. It's slow.
Of course, we've got to get everything we have out packed up again and ready to move. I have to call all the different branches of my store in Utah on Monday to see if they have a position for me to transfer into. Please pray that they do. Pray that God has a plan and that everything will work out.
I've got to get a Uhaul reserved to drive down on the first of October. Apply for jobs if I can't transfer.
I hate moving. I really do, but South Dakota was a huge mistake. We both agree. I love every single one of the friends I've made here, and I'm going to miss all of them so much, they kept me sane. They have made me better. They have just helped me so so much, and I'm so lucky to have met them. I hope we don't lose contact! I'm also glad I was able to get to know Steve's family. It has helped me learn a lot about him, but it's also been nice getting to know them.
I have been slightly reconsidering Ohio because I miss my family, but I did rule it out already. I ruled it out for good reasons, and I really do think Utah will be a good place to actually settle down.
I'm kind of stressed. Kind of worried. Not looking forward to driving down there twice. I'm not very patient. I hate having to wait to do all these things one thing at a time. I would rather just get it all over and done with at once.
Please pray that everything goes smoothly for us, and that we are able to trust in God and His plan for us. Thanks!

Shopping and Moving
Today, we got up and immediately went out shopping. I had been looking at stuff online because the stores around here are usually out or simply don't carry the things I like. It seems like the cuter clothes are reserved for the bigger, better states and South Dakota is not one of them. :( I did find one that I saw online, but it ended up not looking all that great because I have hips.
See? Those blue flower looking things ruined it.
I did find other cute tops that I didn't find online, so yay!
I put some manga books up for sale on ebay. I told Steve not to buy them, but he didn't listen. He ended up not liking them. 7 books into one series and 6 into another. These two series are uber expensive and he's lucky we used my discount on them when I still had the best job ever.
Our lease is up the first week of July so we're moving all our stuff into storage in about 6 weeks. We could renew our lease for another six months, but that really won't work for us since we are moving out of state at the end of August.
We were going to move to Ohio to be closer to my family, but the unemployment rate is just too high (crime rate too) and while I could certainly transfer and he can go to work at home, he wants to find another job. After talking to my dad, we have a few ideas for Steve's career when we get to our destination. Of course, Steve will still do the work at home until he can get hired elsewhere, but we know there will be better opportunities where we are going.
I don't want to say where we are going because I don't want to get certain people excited just to let them down if things don't go as planned. That seems to happen a lot with me. I make plans, tell people my plans, and then disappoint them because I end up not being able to follow through - usually because of finances. I did it to my parents, first with Christmas, then with Easter. I've also done it the last two summers with promising to go see my step-dad in Montana (which really is happening this time, I might add) and then telling miss CC I was coming back to Utah, and the most recent, telling my grandparents we were moving to Ohio.
For the remainder of the day, I will be going through our things and putting them either on ebay, in a box for a garage sale or in the trash. Have a wonderful day!
