Jasmine is officially mine

One of my first posts was about Jasmine, the spoiled brat pictured here and how I would one day kidnap her from my in-laws.

051

I love her to death, and I'm happy to announce that she is officially mine! Her chip information was changed over yesterday, and she is moving with us to Utah.

We've known for a few months now that she would be ours because my in-laws are sick of her. She was peeing in the spare bedroom upstairs, and the computer room downstairs. It smells pretty bad in there. She had a bladder infection at the time, and so I think she just started going wherever because she associated pain with her litter box.

The bladder infection is gone, and she hasn't done it since we've moved back in with his parents. Although, she did do it while we were gone on vacation in Virginia.

I really don't think we are going to have any problems with her. Now that I think about it, cats do things like that when they get mad. Maybe she was mad that Steve and I had moved out, and now that we are back, she's perfectly content again. Maybe she knew all along that we were her owners?

Anyway, Jasmine's mine. She's a pain in the butt when she wants attention, she bangs on the door with her paws when we shut the door at night, and she sheds all over my work clothes, but I love her and I'm so happy and excited that she is coming with us to Utah!

The trip should be interesting. I bought her a cheap little harness to wear for our drive down. When we stop, I'm going to let her out of the truck on a leash so she doesn't feel trapped and scared. When we get to our new home in Utah, she's going to start wearing a collar. She does have a chip, but if someone finds her and tries to keep her, they'll know she already has a home and hopefully turn her in. Although, I'm really hoping she never gets out. She is an indoor kitty only.

She's about four years old, so here's to at least another ten years with her! (Hopefully)

New Glasses

Not a WHOLE new me... but I did get new glasses!!! I feel way different too! More confident!

060

I've had these ones for 8 years. Yeah, I know. Crazy! Way outdated as far as the style goes. Plus they are rather small for my face these days, and they have fallen apart. Several. Times. The sides aren't attached with their original screws. They are instead attached with ones that are slightly too long, so they get caught on the towel when I dry them after rinsing them. Every. Time. Which in turn, was ruining my towels, so they have a special towel all to themselves. The nose pieces have been replaced separately so they are slightly different colors.

I needed new glasses. Badly. So... I used the money I got for my birthday.

They are red. They are square-ish. They are new. They are now me.

Happy Birthday to Me!

As posted earlier, I went to the dermatologist on my birthday. After that, we went back to the house and I took a nap. I haven't been sleeping all that great. Steve cleaned up the rest of the house we didn't get to the day before, his mom made the food for my party, and his dad got the camper ready for their camping trip.

Me and TK

The BBQ was set for six so that MIL and FIL could leave to go camping at seven. LK, JK and TK came at 6 and we all ate together. I knew that my friends wouldn't be available until around 7.

After his parents and TK left (she had to be to work), we were about to play Taboo with his aunt and uncle, but then my friends all showed up right as we were about to start. So I got all the cold food out again, and they ate lots! Which is awesome because we thought we'd have a ton of left overs and end up wasting some! Nope!

Hoover, playing with our cats' toy

NB and JB brought Hoover. He explored the back yard for a bit and then hung out by the back door the whole time until I finally let him in towards the end. Haha. He's super cute!

TB and MV came too. She brought me a present even though she didn't have to. My favorite candle scent ever by Bath & Body is Island Margarita and she got me a three-wick candle, a room diffuser thing, and the room spray. My new apartment will smell like that for forever now! haha. She also let me have some origami flowers she pre-made because I asked her if she would make me some. TB's pretty amazing!

CG, a new friend from work also came! I was so glad because she says she never goes to things that she is invited to! She ended up knowing TB, and so I think she felt a lot more comfortable.

Me and SJ

SJ, another friend I made at the bookstore, came on her lunch break from work. She wasn't going to because we are a little bit out of town, but I convinced her. Plus TK is her manager and I asked TK if she cared if SJ was late getting back. Haha. She didn't, mostly because she's mad at our work.

Anyway, after everyone was done eating, we all played Taboo. We kept ending the rounds tied. I don't remember who won, or if we just simply stopped haha. Then we had cake and zucchini bars. Cake was awesome! And it said "Happy Birthday Jeska." JESKA. I loved it! :) (Jeska is a nickname AM and MM gave me when we were little, which combines my first and middle name)

$400 for 8 oz?

I went to the dermatologist on my birthday and she gave me more medicine! Yay! I just ran out and was hoping for more because it really is working. It's just slow. I mentioned that to her. "Did you think it was a miracle pill?" I told her I was hoping and she just laughed.

I told her my scalp was really bothering me and didn't seem to be getting better. So she inspected my scalp, then prescribed some shampoo, oil and ointment (for the itching). So we went to Walgreens after to get my prescriptions filled, and it was almost $100!!!

I wondered if maybe one of them wasn't covered, so I looked at the original prices. The shampoo is normally $400!!! Can you believe it? $400 for 8 oz of liquid. All I gotta say is thank God we have insurance!

My skin is clearing up, let's hope I have the same luck with my scalp. $100 out of pocket for me, that stuff better freakin' work. Just sayin'.
