Day 36: Other Half

A PICTURE OF YOUR "OTHER HALF"

Day 36

I forgot to get a picture of him before he went to work, so I made him take a pic for me at his work. haha.

One of my co-workers actually calls him "other half" too.

There is no leak

Shortly after we first moved in, there was a leak in our ceiling in the middle of our living room. We called the office the next morning, they fixed it. It hasn't been an issue since.

A couple months later, like maybe 2, 2 1/2 months, our swamp cooler started to leak. It was cold now, it had been drained or whatever it is you do with swamp coolers, and it wasn't being used anymore. But it was leaking onto our kitchen table and then onto the floor.

We called the office, maintenance didn't see anything. They said it was probably just the wind blowing in the water because it had been very windy as well as pouring that week. Whatever.

A few weeks go by, no more leaking. Then it snows. It starts leaking again. They make sure the swamp cooler is tight, and redo the flashing around it.

Another few weeks go by, it's leaking again. This time they go into the attic. There's a pile of snow sitting in there. They scoop it out, and decide to wait until it's dry to do anything. I don't remember what they did outside the apartment, but inside, they just added some caulking to the edge of the vent.

Last week, a bee came in through the vent, and Jasmine starts playing with it, of course. Steve quickly kills it and takes it away from her. I write an annoyed aggressive little note to the office letting them know that I am sick of the issues with the swamp cooler. I tell them that there is obviously something wrong up there and they need to fix it because I don't want to come home to an injured kitty because she's been playing with bees and wasps that are getting in.

All they did was look around for nests, and holes. Said they found nothing.

Then, this last Tuesday at 5AM, Steve hears a splash and goes to investigate. There's a big puddle and a hole in the ceiling next to the vent of the swamp cooler.

SERIOUSLY?!

FIX IT THE FIRST TIME! It's costing you money. It could cost you lots of money if it turns into a mold issue, which it better not! I don't have health insurance!

The roofers were supposed to come yesterday, they didn't. Steve called the office today about the hole in our ceiling because his parents will be here tomorrow night, and we want it fixed. Only then did the office realize that the roofers never showed up. Why do we have to do their job for them? Aren't they supposed to be on top of this stuff? There's 3 of them in that office!

I'm just so frustrated with the leaking roof!

I enjoy not having upstairs neighbors, and I enjoy not being ground level (makes it easier for burglars, murderers, etc) but I don't want my things ruined because they won't fix the issue.

They're lucky it's just an old ugly dining set that keeps getting dripped on and not any of my electronics or other furniture.

Day 33: Home

A PICTURE OF THE HOUSE YOU GREW UP IN

Day 33

I don't actually have any pictures of it, so here it is on google maps! Apparently it was a rainy, gloomy day.

Being a military brat and having divorced parents I had many houses growing up, but this one was my favorite and it was with my daddy.

Let me point out what's wrong with this picture...

1. The mailbox is different

2. The garbage can is not in the garage

3. There is extra driveway to the left.

4. The grass is overgrown.

Day 32: Hinder

A PICTURE OF A CRAZY NIGHT

Day 32

That would be Hinder, in case you can't tell. It was fun. With crazies.

Day 31: Food!

A PICTURE OF A TRADITION YOU HAVE

day 31

This one took me a few days because I don't really think of the things we do as tradition. So here's the best I came up with... we always go grocery shopping together. Always.

Day 29: Step-dad

A PICTURE THAT ALWAYS MAKES YOU SMILE

Day 29

I was at Shopko with my step-dad one day and he let me take this picture that captures his awesome personality perfectly.

Down to Goal

Steve is down to his recruiter's goal weight for him.

He goes in tomorrow to hand over all of our paperwork. Birth certificates, his diploma, our marriage license. That type of stuff. They already did a background check on him. And he'll get a physical this week and start signing away his life.

One thought: Nooooooooooooo

Another thought: Finally!

Still mixed feelings on it all.

The sooner he goes to basic though, the sooner I get my puppy and Jasmine gets a new best friend. That also means sleeping without my husband though, and I'm still not sure I can handle it.

Day 28: Spiders

A PICTURE OF SOMETHING YOU'RE AFRAID OF

Day 28

I may be a bajillion times bigger than them, but spiders, bugs, moths of all shapes and sizes scare the crap out of me!

Day 25: Work

A PICTURE OF YOUR DAY

No picture today. I'll be working ALL day, open to close, and my store doesn't allow pictures to be taken.

(Happy Mother's Day)

Day 24: Animal Cruelty

A PICTURE OF SOMETHING YOU WISH YOU COULD CHANGE

Day 24

I wish I could change sick and violent humans.

I don't understand how anyone can hurt and torture innocent creatures who can't or won't fight back.

Don't even think about typing "animal cruelty" into google. It will make your heart hurt, make you want to cry, and hate humankind if you are anything like me.

Instead, enjoy my adorable Jasmine.

Day 23: That's right, Twilight

A PICTURE OF YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

Day 23

Judge me. I don't care.

I simply love it.

Although, I think I may like Midnight Sun better. It's the same story, but written from Edward's point of view. I wish she'd finish it and release it! It's amazing!

Day 21: I love me

A PICTURE OF SOMETHING YOU WISH YOU COULD FORGET

This is my picture of nothing! Because I wouldn't be who I am or where I am if anything in my past changed.

And I love who I am and where I am!

Day 20: San Diego

A PICTURE OF SOMEWHERE YOU'D LOVE TO TRAVEL

Day 20

San Diego!

I went there with my family when I was 15 and I loved it!

Steve has never seen African animals (other than tigers) and he really would like to go to the San Diego Zoo. I'd love to take him there!

Sea World too!

And of course, the beach!

Day 18: Fat

A PICTURE OF YOUR BIGGEST INSECURITY

Day 18

My size.

I'm just not comfortable in my own body.

It's hard to lose the weight.

I have a good diet.

I need more exercise.

My feet hurt after being on them all day.

I'm going to try running again now that my heel is healed.

Of course!

I haven't been sick for the last 5 months. But here, have this promotion with a side of common cold!

I feel like crap today! I didn't get any sleep last night. If I'm any worse tomorrow, I'm gonna have to do it. I'm gonna have to call in on my first day in my new position! Arg!

I'm so frustrated!

I just really hope today is the worst of it.
