Yes, that's right. His first concert. 22 years old and his first concert.
Haha, okay I just had to get that out of my system. :) I like picking on him if you can't tell.
Yesterday, we weren't really doing anything. We planned on going to the Sturgis Motorcycle rally in the early evening, but until then we were just being lazy around the house since everyone was gone and we didn't have to leave to avoid them. My friend SJ text me and asked if I wanted to go to the Daughtry concert with her because she got free tickets. She had been trying to convince me to go all week, but for Steve and I to both go it would have been $100 and we're trying to save money to move. I did want to go, but just couldn't. Since we could go for free though, we said YES! And so she picked us up shortly after and off we went with her and her brother-in-law.
It took us almost two hours to get there when Sturgis is less than an hour away. Traffic was so backed up because there were 600,000 people in this normally 6,000 population town. I'm not exaggerating. Google it. There was hardly anyone there when we got to the stage.
It started at 6, but just for the opening bands. Sweet Cyanide and Bad City. Sweet Cyanide threw some of their CDs out to the small crowd, and one landed at SJ's feet, but Steve stole it so we could burn it before giving it back. He really liked Sweet Cyanide.
Around 8, Hinder finally comes on and they were so amazing! They were the reason I wanted to go. I love Hinder! He made such a great connection with the crowd and was seriously just awesome.
He even came out and got in the crowd a little. He was literally like 3 feet away, even though we were only 15 feet from the stage, getting even closer was awesome!
Half an hour after he was done, Daughtry comes on and this is what SJ was really looking forward to. Steve loves both Hinder and Daughtry so he was really excited too.
Daughtry sucked. His mic only worked half the time so you could barely understand him. He made no connection with the audience, and he was seriously in love with his mic.
We were all pretty disappointed. SJ especially. Three Doors Down was coming on next, but we were all so disheartened by then that we decided to leave. Plus, they took FOREVER to get set up. We were all tired of standing still for so long, and of course there was no room to sit with all the people around. So Steve and I went to the back to sit on a bench while SJ waited for them to come on stage. She just wanted a few pics before we left. It took them 40 minutes to get on stage after Daughtry. Really lame that they took so long.
There was a lot of drinking involved too. So there were a few guys that were very annoying and spilling beer on people. Others were sick of him too, so when he left to get another beer, people wouldn't let him back in when he tried because he was seriously that annoying. It was kind of awesome.
Anyway, Hinder was so amazing and that made it all worth it. And it was still a ton of fun!
